About the Greek Language School

The North County Greek Language School has been offering Greek Language courses since 1988 in the greater San Diego area. The Greek Language course work is a well rounded academic program that complements the curriculum established by the Greek Education Ministry and works closely with the Education Office of Consulate General of Greece.

Educational Goals

We offer Greek Language classes at beginning, intermediate, and advance levels, for both children and adults. Our educational goal is for students to develop all aspects of Greek Language learning such as reading, writing, syntax, and grammar with emphasis on modern Greek as spoken in Greece today. Students learn about the Greek culture and history through a well balanced curriculum that include text books, poems, songs, theater skits and multimedia content. In addition, the Greek language program explores the world of Ancient Greece and Greek mythology.

Program Details

The Greek Language school year is divided into three quarters: Fall, Winter and Spring quarter. Each quarter consists of 10 - 12 classes. We meet once a week for two hours. The school is closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas (two weeks) and Greek Easter (one week).
  • Tuition fees for children is $150 per quarter
  • $130 for a second family member
  • Tuition fees for adults is $150 per quarter
  • Book costs range $15 - $30 and vary per class. Fees are due on the first week of each quarter (first week of October, January and April) and are not refundable for missed classes. Financial assistance is available on case-by-case basis.
